Car Rental Agreement

Applies to all car rentals (Suzuki Automatic with A/C, 5 seats). When you check the consent box at checkout, you agree to all three sections below.

01 Liability, Damage & Theft

What you're responsible for

While the car is in your care — from key handover to return — you're responsible for any damage, loss, or theft that occurs.

Liability

Damage and replacement charges are based on the actual cost to repair or replace, with a per-rental cap quoted on your booking confirmation. We'll let you know the exact amount before checkout so there are no surprises.

Theft insurance (optional add-on)

Theft insurance is available at checkout. If purchased, it covers theft only — not crash damage or misuse. If not purchased and the car is stolen, you remain liable up to the full replacement cost in the booking confirmation.

What's included free

  • Limited liability insurance for third-party claims
  • Roadside assistance
  • Air conditioning
  • GPS tracking
  • Gas (full tank at pickup, return full)

How we charge for damage

Your card is securely saved on file. If damage occurs, we send photos + itemized invoice before charging, with a 24-hour window to flag disagreement.

Not covered

  • Damage from operating under the influence or in violation of law
  • Off-road or unpaved-road damage (cars are paved-road only)
  • Damage from exceeding the rated passenger or cargo capacity
  • Loss of accessories, mats, or seat covers beyond reasonable wear
02 Cancellation & Refund Policy

More than 24 hours before pickup

Cancel for a 50% refund. Processed back to original payment method within 5–7 business days.

Within 24 hours of pickup

Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup are charged 100% of the reservation.
  • For cash payments: the full amount is charged to the card on file.
  • For credit card payments: no refund is issued.

No-shows

Treated as a same-day cancellation (100% charge / no refund).

Weather & travel disruption

Documented disruption outside your control — message us early and we'll work it out (rebooking credit, partial refund, or full refund at our discretion).

If we cancel

100% refund and our apology, plus help finding an alternative.

03 Driver Requirements & Use Terms

Driver requirements

  • Valid driver's license from your home country.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Additional drivers must be added at pickup with their license on hand.

Where you can drive

  • Paved roads only — Tulum town, beach road, Tulum–Coba highway, day trips to Coba, Valladolid, Mérida.
  • Within Mexican states adjacent to Quintana Roo. Border-crossing trips require prior written permission.
  • No off-road or unpaved-road driving.

Passengers & cargo

Five seats; one passenger per seatbelt. Children must use age-appropriate restraints (we can provide a booster on request).

Fuel & return

Full tank at pickup. Return full or pay refueling fee at pump rate plus service charge. Late returns billed by the hour at the standard overage rate.

Prohibited use

  • Operating under the influence
  • Racing, stunting, or commercial use without permission
  • Subletting to anyone not on the reservation
  • Hazardous cargo or livestock
  • Towing without prior permission

Local law

You agree to follow all Mexican traffic laws. Tickets and fines issued during the rental period are your responsibility. Forwarded tickets must be reimbursed within 30 days.
